Application Process

 

Selection Schedule

1. Position will be publicly advertised 16th September to 18th November 2024.

2. Deadline for applications is 18th November 2024.  


3. Candidates selected for interview will be notified around 15th December 2024.  Subject to consent, references for interview candidates may be checked.


4. Interviews will be held on 4th and 11th January 2025 in St Albans. Any follow up questions will be conducted by Zoom in the week after the interview.


5. Shortlisted candidates will audition with choir on 30th January and 6th February 2025. 


6. Successful candidate will be selected in mid-February 2025 and offered the role.


7. Contract signed in March 2025.

ommencement date 1st September 2025 or as agreed.

The Society reserves the right to amend or cancel this process.

2. If you wish to talk to a member of the Society’s Committee or to raise questions before applying, your request should be sent to the same email address.

The contents of your application must be sent in MS Word or PDF format and attached to your email.

4. 
Your application must contain the following items:
a) a covering letter explaining why you are applying and your suitability for the role;
b) 
personal contact details;
c) 
two references;
d) curriculum vitae including education and professional experience;
e) a list of conducting engagements (including repertoire) in the past two years;
f) an outline music programme for the next two years;
g) a view on how our choir might develop over a 3-5 year timeframe.

5. You may, if you wish, attach recordings and/or video clips of your rehearsals or performances.  You may also include testimonials.


Applications received after 18th November 2024 may not be considered.
